1973 Macallan 18 Year Old

The vintage Macallan 18 Year Old was an annual release that spanned every year from 1965 to 1997.

Both the quality and the consistency of the sherry casks bottled under this label have undoubtedly played their part in getting Macallan to where it is today.

The magic of this series is that they managed to keep going during the 1980's when the entire Scotch whisky industry was depressed to say the least and many distilleries were forced to close - some temporarily, others permanently.

Nowadays the surviving bottles have become true collectors' items, particularly the ones distilled in the 1960's and 1970's of which this is a fine example.

A limited edition released around 1992.
