Elmer T Lee was a master distiller at Buffalo Trace distillery until his retirement in 1985 having joined what was the George T Stagg distillery as a young man.

After his retirement he continued to select barrels into the 1990s for the Elmer T Lee brand that was created in his honour.

He is also credited with the introduction of the Blanton's Single Barrel brand in 1984, one of the most successful bourbon brands to this day.

Lee was inducted in the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame in 2001 and received lifetime achievement awards from both Whisky Advocate (2002) and Whisky Magazine (2012).

This limited edition commemorative bottle honours his life's work in distilling.
