1974 Macallan G&M Speymalt (bottled 2016)

Producer tasting notes:
'Rich sherry character followed by sweet hints of fig, raisin and plum. The palate is smooth with fruit cake flavours, hints of orange and clove all complemented by a charred oak edge.'

Founded in 1895, Gordon & MacPhail are independent bottlers of the highest order and for a long time were one of the official bottlers of Macallan single malt. They remain to this day one of the most reliable and extensive sources of vintage Macallan outside the distillery itself.

G&M Speymalt is a long running series of vintage Macallan bottlings going all the way back to 1938. This edition of Speymalt was distilled in 1974 and matured in sherry casks for around 42 years before being bottled in 2016.
