1980 Scapa 25 Year Old (75cl edition)
Scapa is located on Orkney's main island and uses almost exclusively American Oak bourbon casks for maturation. Rather interestingly, it is also entirely unpeated whereas you would normally expect at least some peat smoke being an island distillery.
Described in 1887 as 'One of the most complete little distilleries in the United Kingdom' Scapa distillery sits overlooking Scapa Flow - an expanse of calm water ringed by lighthouses. From this unique place comes their rarest 25 year old expression of Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a quarter of a century in its preparation, with its distinctive, silky smooth finish and heather-honey flavours.
