2000 Macallan G&M Speymalt Single Cask (bottled 2021)

Notes from the producer:
Sherry aromas with brown sugar and citrus peel. The palate has dark chocolate, hazelnut and stewed raisins, leading to a medium-bodied finish of aniseed and marzipan.

Not too long ago Gordon & MacPhail famously sold millions of pounds worth of old and rare Macallan casks back to The Macallan Distillery. Although the rumour mill was in overdrive at the time, it was never publicly confirmed what might become of the Speymalt series.

This bottling is one of the new generation of Speymalts, offered from a single cask at cask strength. If anyone at G&M reads this, bravo!
